Behemoth’s Nergal is Opening a Bar and a Second Barbershop in Poland
Nergal is quite the busy man these days, and he’s also quite the business man: just a few months after opening a barbershop — all while touring with Behemoth and working on solo material — the Behemoth frontman has not only expanded his barbershop empire to a second location in Warsaw, but he’s opening a bar in Sopot, near the band’s home-base of Gdansk. Now you can get a clean shave AND sip on some bubbly courtesy of metal’s most evil frontman — happy day!
The bar is called Libation, and you can check it out on Facebook right here. Here’s what Nergal had to say about it via MetalNews.pl (with help from Google Translate):
Ugh! The Word became flesh! For a few days we open NEW club in Sopot with the charming name of libation;)))) But do not let yourself be provoked, because it is in the name of the second floor … And our plan is ambitious: to raise the level of entertainment in the city dominated by kebab and plastic. We promise ballet at a high level, with good music and the best liquor in a place unique … and something else, but it is impossible to describe! :)))) Plan respectable but we can not without human factor … so VERY VERY but it’s important to me on the spiritual and physical support people I like, I appreciate and respect :) Pass on the good news! Please Polubcie page Libation and meet you all on May 1 on a unique, truly Dionysian fun! :))))) A CHOOOJ adventur!
Obviously that translation is a bit broken, but here’s what we can discern: 1) I’m assuming there won’t be any actual ballet in this place (although you never know!), but perhaps what he’s saying is that the second floor will be a dance club; 2) It sounds like he might be hinting at a live music venue on the ground floor; 3) This sounds like a very classy establishment.
MetalSucks readers in the Gdansk area: stop by Libation when it opens on May 1st and report back to us on what it’s like!
Meanwhile, MetalNews.pl also reports that Nergal has opened a second location of the Barberian Academy in Warsaw, meaning you and your friend can both simultaneously get your manes chopped even when you’re across town from one another. Huzzah!
Behemoth fans are of course going to speculate that Nergal’s many business undertakings could signal the end of Behemoth, which strikes me as silly: Behemoth have a ton of dates lined up for this summer and I highly doubt they’ll slow down. Nergal’s just being smart and diversifying his investment portfolio. Investing is metal. \m/
