There are some really good albums being released today — but if you’ve only got enough dough to purchase one, my recommendation would be that you get Parallels, the new album (and first full-length!) from Spylacopa. The group’s credentials are impeccable (Parallels features contributions from current and former members of Candiria, Isis, and Made Out of Babies), but even if that wasn’t the case, this album would be one of the most satisfying alt-metal releases in some time. Parallels has got scope, incorporating a wide array of influences and moods into one extremely satisfying package.
