Ozzy Osbourne Needs Surgery; Ozzfiesta Cancelled

Sorry, Mexicans: the white man has fucked you over yet again.

Ozzfiesta, which was being sold as the Mexican version of Ozzfest yet only featured two artists (Ozzy + Black Label Society) and some comedians (Jim Norton and Jim Florentine), has been cancelled. From the event’s website:

“Like you, we were very excited about the event. However, Ozzy is having surgery, scheduled for May, following his South American tour. He requires at least four weeks of recovery time. We are very disappointed that we need to cancel.

“We will be offering refunds which will be processed in the next 4-6 weeks. If you decide that you would still enjoy an all inclusive vacation at the Hard Rock, Riviera Maya, Mexico please send us an email, and we can make the arrangements.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that you understand the circumstances surrounding the cancellation.”

Although I don’t particularly care about the fate of Ozzfiesta, I do find this whole “Ozzy needs surgery” thing intriguing… especially because it’s the first we’ve heard of it. What kind of surgery? If it’s so serious that it couldn’t be postponed until after Ozzfiesta, why isn’t the South American tour cancelled, too? Is this just an easy way to cover up for Ozzfiesta not selling enough tickets?

Maybe we’ll know more soon. Maybe not! In the meantime, Sharon always makes a good scapegoat, so feel free to bitch her out in the comments section.
