Weird Japanese Metal Video of the Day: Vampillia, “Heyoah”

People often assume I am an expert on all things both Japanese and metal, seeing as I’m a certified pedophile and I once interviewed Marty Friedman for a publication arguably more respectable than this one. But nothing could be further from the truth: in fact I know very little about Japanese metal aside from a few token bands, but I revel in the opportunity to explore anything new that comes my way.

So: check out this video by the band Vampillia that recently dropped into the MS inbox by way of news about their upcoming Australian tour. Says the press release:

Vampillia turn classical music into hardcore – famous for their aggressive, chaotic performances with three eccentric vocalists, a body painted dancer, a macho man with a saw in his hand and a drug queen noise violinist, they call themselves the ‘brutal orchestra.’

The below video for “Heyoah” is from 2009, but it totally corroborates the band’s above description of themselves. I won’t ruin the fun for you… just check it out. Stream their 2011 album Rule the World​/​Deathtiny Land at Bandcamp.
