Film Adaptation of Mötley Crüe’s The Dirt Switches Studios

Is the film adaptation of Mötley Crüe’s The Dirt is getting closer to being a reality? After more than a decade in development at Paramount and MTV Films, the project has now moved over to Focus Features, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They claim that “The move kickstarts the heart of the project” (yuk yuk) and that “A search for actors will begin shortly” — although they don’t mention a start date for production, and say that Focus is “developing” the movie, which suggests that it doesn’t have a green light yet.

But still! This is progress! And director Jeff Tremaine (Jackass, Bad Grandpa) remains attached, despite the studio switch. So it seems like this thing may finally get off the ground at some point in the not-too-distant future.

While we await more news, let’s do some fantasy casting in the comments section, shall we? Personally, I’m thinking they should just hire the stars of The Wedding Ringer, because that movie looks like an instant masterpiece, doesn’t it?
