Rigged: Pallbearer Guitarists Brett Campbell and Devin Holt Show Off Their Gear
MetalSucks’ sister site Gear Gods has been covering all things musical instruments, lessons, tutorials and recording technology for just over a year now. While we’ve let them take the “Rigged” flag and fly it high — mostly letting MetalSucks’ own artist gear rundowns lie dormant — the recent videos they shot with Pallbearer guitarist/vocalist Brett Campbell and guitarist Devin Holt are so bad-ass they’re worth the double-dip.
Not only are Pallbearer one of the best live bands currently working in metal — Gear Gods scribe Maximus Frank nails it when he says that they “rock your definition of what ‘heavy’ really is when you see them live,” comparing the power of their shows to those of Gojira, Dillinger, Kvelertak and Nails — but this video is the very first time they’ve ever been captured on camera (or otherwise) talking at length about the gear they use. The interview was done backstage at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus, so they couldn’t get too far into amps and cabs, but Campbell’s pedalboard is a rig unto itself, and he also shows off his super-nifty white Strat.
