Slipknot Stream New Album Intro “XIX”
I like Slipknot’s new album, .5: The Gray Chapter (read my review here), but the opening track, “XIX,” is probably my least favorite cut on the record. It’s more than just an intro in vein of “742617000027,” “[515],” or “.execute.,” but it’s also not a full, honest-to-Dio song like “Prelude 3.0,” either. It’s not bad, but it’s so kinda neither here nor there that I almost always end up skipping it and jumping right to the album’s second track and first proper song, “Sarcastrophe” — which, it’s worth mentioning, begins on a quiet, moody note which itself makes a fine intro for the album.
You are, of course, free to disagree with me. You can stream “XIX” below courtesy of Spotify, or, if you’re too dumb to sign up for this fantastic free service, you can also check it out via the band’s website. .5: The Gray Chapter is out October 21 on Roadrunner.
