Rigor Mortis Have a “Poltergeist”
It was an honor for us to debut the first new Rigor Mortis song in almost twenty-five years, “Flesh for Flies,” earlier this month. Hopefully, that lil’ neck breaker of a ditty whet your appetite for the band’s heavily anticipated, long-in-the-making final album, Slaves to the Grave, which will be released this fall.
Well, while you’ll have to wait a little longer to enjoy the full meal, you can now make your appetite even whetter: our pals at Decibel are now streaming another track from Grave, this one entitled “Poltergeist.” It’s just as siqq as “Flies,” and I think the guitar work by the late Mike Scaccia may be even siqqer. He shreds, yeah, but things also get kinda emotional about halfway through the song. It’s a doozie, lemme tell ya.
Listen to “Poltergeist” here. Slaves to the Grave is out October 7. There will be a record release show at The Curtain Club in Dallas on September 27, at which the band will be selling the album a full ten days before it comes out. They’ll also be playing a Scaccia tribute set under the moniker “Wizards of Gore” at the second annual Housecore Horror Film & Music Festival the weekend of October 23 in Austin.
