Here’s a Photo of Babymetal with Lady Gaga (Wearing an Iron Maiden Shirt!)

Babymetal’s five-date stint opening for Lady Gaga officially came to a close last night in Denver, CO, thus completing their very first ever American tour. The pairing certainly makes a whole lot of sense: both have a flair for dramatic stage shows, and both have music that’s surprisingly complex (Gaga was accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, and though she didn’t attend, later studied music and songwriting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Babymetal, of course, are putting out some wizard-level genius music!). Word on the street is that Gaga hand-picked Babymetal as the openers herself, but even if that’s not the case one thing is for certain: she’s definitely a fan now.

Gaga posted a picture of herself with Babymetal on her Instagram, made all the more sweet by the fact that she’s wearing an Iron Maiden shirt. Gaga’s love of metal (or at least Iron Maiden) shouldn’t be a surprise: here’s a picture of her posing with IM drummer Nicko McBrain and here she is waxing ecstatic about their live show. She also went out of her way to attend a Lazer/Wulf show at SXSW earlier this year — and, by all accounts, rocked the fuck out up front — wearing the very same Maiden shirt she’s seen wearing here. Horns up for Gaga!
