Today in Dream Theater Shirts: Metalhead Veterinarian Fired for Bestial*ty
The week of Monday, July 28th, 2014 hasn’t been a good one for Dream Theater shirts (or it’s been a great one, depending on whether you’re a glass half full or glass half empty kind of person).
Over the weekend an idiotic, trolling or just completely oblivious fan came to a Mike Portnoy signing session wearing a Dream Theater shirt of the band’s recent Portnoy-less album, to which Portnoy severely overreacted in public fashion.
Now we’ve gotten word via a BBC report that Oliver Fraser Lown, a graduate of the Veterinary Science program at Szent Istvan University in Hungary who is currently living in the UK, has been found guilty by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the UK’s veterinary regulatory body, of five separate charges relating to the possession of extreme animal pornography and sexual activity with animals.
And the photo of the poor sap that’s currently circulating the web shows him wearing a Dream Theater shirt. Crikey! From the BBC report:
Three of the charges related to the discovery of images or videos on a laptop and a mobile phone at his home near Ipswich.
Another charge related to footage of him engaging in sexual activity with a horse and a dog, while a fifth charge related to him sending messages that referred to sexual activity with animals.
As a result of the RCVS’s decision, Lown has been removed from the register of veterinarians legally allowed to practice in the UK.
The moral of the story: next time you bring little Fido or Tigger to get a check-up and the vet’s wearing a Dream Theater shirt, run for the hills. Or just give Mike Portnoy a call.
