Suffokate Suffokating

Were you stoked to see Suffokate alongside Abiotic, Aegaeon, and As They Sleep on the Murder Without Motive Tour? Uh… you were? What the hell is wrong with you? Suffokate are HORRIBLE.

Regardless: guitarist Jason Graff and bassist Ivan Munguia have both departed Suffokate abruptly, thereby forcing the band to cancel their appearance on the final five dates of the trek. Presumably, there was some serious inner turmoil going on here, ’cause quitting a band MID-TOUR is a serious dick move, and quitting a band WHEN THE TOUR IS ALMOST OVER is really serious dick move. So it seems safe to assume that these guys didn’t jump ship because, like, someone ate their last Hot Pocket or something.

This is the third major line-up change the deathcore band has gone through in the past two years: original vocalist Ear Gauges McGee quit in the summer of 2012 so he could undergo earlobe reconstructive surgery, while his successor, Matty Kay, was in the band for less than a year before he apparently lost his mind and told everyone he’d been deported to Canada.

And yet, the band has apparently vowed not to break-up, which is too bad. I couldn’t help but notice that my local Dunkin’ Donuts is hiring. And it’s like, Who is gonna get people those donuts??? And I’m thinking, “Oh, the dudes in Suffokate could probably use a gig right now.” But I guess those donuts will continue to go unserved. This is the tragic world in which we are living.

ANYWAY, Abiotic continue the tour with Aegaeon, who are not to be confused with Allegaeon, and As They Sleep, who are not to be confused for While She Sleeps. Below are the remaining dates, which are not to be confused with…
