F*ck Waiting Around to Die, The New Darkest Hour Album Has a Release Date NOW

There are a lot of reasons to be excited for the new Darkest Hour album. The most obvious one, of course, being that it’s a new Darkest Hour album, no doy. But it’s also something of a new beginning for the band: this will be their first recording with new bassist Aaron Deal (ex-Salome) and new drummer Travis Orbin, and it will be their first album for Sumerian. So it’s not unreasonable to expect that they might attack the creation of this latest offering with just that much extra vigor n’ verve.

There’s certainly a megafuckton of vigor n’ verve in the above, too-brief teaser for the album, which the band released last night via fuckwaitingaroundtodie.com. Rarely do I feel so excited about less than twenty seconds of music, but this sounds like it’s gonna tear my face off, and I am totally game to have my face torn off right now.

Based on that URL and the fact that vocalist John Henry screams “FUCK WAITING AROUND TO DIE!”, I’m guessing that either the album or the single is entitled Fuck Waiting Around to Die. Which is a great title, because it works on multiple levels. The lack of a comma after the word “fuck” will probably lead most people to interpret the title to mean “To hell with waiting around to perish!”. But it could also be like, “Hey, while we’re waiting around to perish, let’s fuck!”, and it could also also be like, “I am irritated because I’m waiting around to perish.”

All three concepts are equally metal.

ANYWAY, the release date to mark in your calendar is August 5. It can’t come soon enough.
