Video: Metallica Perform “The Frayed Ends of Sanity” Live for the First Time Ever
Whatever else you wanna say about Metallica, you can’t accuse them of just playing the same setlist night after night. Sure, there are certain hits they’re pretty much obligated to perform no matter what, but generally speaking, they make an earnest effort to ensure that no Metallica shows are exactly alike.
So I’m actually kinda surprised that it took them twenty-five years to finally break out the …And Justice for All track “The Frayed Ends of Sanity.” But they finally did it in Helsinki, Finland yesterday. Fans voted for which songs they wanna hear on this tour, so I guess that one musta gotta lotta votes. And why not? The song is awesome, and it should be part of their live repertoire. And the crowd, of course, eats it up. Oh, if only Jason Newsted had lived to see this!
