Is This a Demo for a New Periphery Song? Probably Not.
Get excited! Periphery have released a demo for a new song entitled “Borthelcash.” (What is a Borthel, and why does it need money? I dunno.) Explains guitarist Misha Mansoor:
“So we have been working together the last few days to write our epic song for the new Periphery album. Something that would be able to follow ‘Racecar.’ We are so excited that we said screw it and we will share the instrumental version with you so you can hear it! The song covers ground we have never touched before, and it is very thematic and goes through a lot of moods. Hope you enjoy!”
But don’t get too excited! It seems reasonably clear that this is, in fact, just an April Fools’ joke. I mean, I suppose it’s possible that’s not the case, but… well… I’d be mighty surprised. And I suspect you’ll agree with me right around the time you hit the 1:32 mark of the track. Listen:
Oh, Periphery. You knaves!
