Just in time for the launch of the third annual Decibel Magazine Tour (next Tuesday, fucking finally!), we’re chuffed to kickstart your coal-black hearts with an adrenaline shot of Noisem. The precocious Baltimore thrashers are, of course, opening for veteran death metal heroes Carcass, the Black Dahlia Murder and Gorguts, and even though you should be plenty familiar with debut LP Agony Defined by now (our ninth favorite album of 2013), you can get an extra dose of their death-thrash onslaught via their Flexi Series track “Defiled,” appearing in the May issue.

The 40th installment in the Flexi Series’ history, “Defiled” offers breakneck, fat-free brutality for two minutes until a ripping solo breaks over the top and axemen Sebastian Phillips and Travis Stone duel to the bitter end. Recorded exclusively for the Flexi Series, “Defiled” is a rager on par with the band’s best work, and is Noisem’s first new song since Agony Defined. It appears on metallic silver on red vinyl (think: bullets and blood). There are a limited number of copies of the issue featuring the flexi available in the dB webstore now, so pounce on that shit posthaste.
