Exclusive Premiere: Pyrrhon, “The Mother of Virtues”
When Pyrrhon contacted MetalSucks about exclusively premiering a jam from their new album The Mother of Virtues we said yes immediately, song unheard. We’ve been watching this band develop and mature in the NYC metal scene for nearly half a decade now so we had full faith that whatever they concocted this time around would rip faces and then shred them to bits. That the record was made with the all-star team of recording engineer Ryan Jones (Today Is The Day, Mutilation Rites) and mastering engineer Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice) was just the skin on the pudding.
Thankfully Pyrrhon haven’t let us down one bit. Check out the album’s title track below and see what you think — if you like churning, skronky death metal in the vein of Gorguts, Ulcerate, Artificial Brain, Dysrhythmia, etc, we’re positive you’ll be blown away. “The Mother of Virtues” is one of the more experimental and weird tracks on the album — especially compared to the more straight-ahead (relatively speaking) “Balkanized” — and it’s a trip all the way through.
Pre-order The Mothor of Virtues here ahead of its April 1 release via Relapse Records.
