Get the Coffee Ready: Devin Townsend To Start Recording Ziltoid 2 on May 2
This is terrific news!
After seven years, it looks like the heavily anticipated sequel to Ziltoid is finally becoming a realty. Devy revealed last month that he’d commence recording the album in May, but now those sessions have an officially official start date. Says the man himself via Twitter:
So recording of Z2 starts May 2nd in LA! The project started so far include ztv a big graphic novel comic, a documentary and crazy live show

The pledge starts in about a week, and although it’s as Casualties Of Cool, all additional funding goes directly into Ziltoid and Z2

A May start date for production of the album doesn’t necessarily guarantee its release in 2014, especially since Townsend already has a lot on his plate (as is usually the case). But still! If you can manage to keep yourself alive through at least 2015, I’d wager you will actually get to hear this record.
