Interview: Intronaut’s Sacha Dunable Talks Tone, Building His Own Guitars
This is some real nerd shit right here! (Not that there’s anything wrong that). In a new interview with Gear Gods, Intronaut guitarist Sacha Dunable gets into the nitty gritty of tone. In discourse that is slightly above my head but may be right at eye level for you, he discusses the tonal differences between 6L6 and EL34 tubes, individual pickup choices for himself and co-guitarist Dave Timnick, and, the most fascinating part for me, Sacha’s own hand-built guitars through his company Valley Fret Works. Did you know that dudes in Red Fang, Municipal Waste, The Atlas Moth and Murder Construct use his guitars? I had no idea Dunable was a luthier, although it’s not that surprising because of course. At the end of the interview Dunable drops the little nugget that the band is hoping to get their next album out by the end of 2014, so there’s that, too.
