After the Apocalypse, All That Shall Remain are Cockroaches and Bret Michaels

Bret Michaels RevolutionI’ve never seen NBC’s Revolution, a show which takes place in a world that has completely lost all electricity. That potentially-interesting premise aside, it looked pretty bad when the network started selling it ,and people I know who did try watch confirm that it is, indeed, drek.

But I tell ya what: I am definitely going to watch at least one upcoming episode next year! Because according to Entertain Me Weakly

“…the singer is set to appear on NBC’s drama Revolution, where he will play a post-apocalyptic version of himself.

“But which character will come face-to-face with the Poison frontman? You’ll have to wait to see, but we’re told Micheals will be performing an acoustic version (…because, you know, there’s no power) of his band’s hit ballad ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ in the episode, set to air in 2014.”

It’s not just the idea of Michaels that makes this hilarious, because we already know he’s a horrible actor; likewise, it’s not just the idea that Michaels is going to be playing himself that makes this hilarious, because he kinda does that all the time. No no no. It’s the idea of Michaels playing himself in a post-apocalyptic world that makes this whole endeavor so very worthwhile. And the idea that in the midst of this extreme crisis, people would still be asking him to sing “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” Even if I was walking around after the apocalypse and came across Michaels, I can’t imagine I would ever be like, “Dude, play your biggest hit,” because it just seems rude. I guess I wouldn’t put it past Michaels to offer to play the song, though. Hm…

Of course, the biggest question about the episode is this: once the power goes and civilization turns to shit, will Michaels still be able to keep ahold of his trusty bandana, or will disguising his hair loss suddenly seem like not-such-a-high priority?!?!?! The suspense is killing me.
