Eagles of Death Metal Cover Guns N’ Roses, Do a Surprisingly Good Job

The Eagles of Death Metal have covered Guns N’ Roses’ “It’s So Easy,” which I suspect they think is hilarious given their ongoing feud with Axl Rose, who kicked the band off a GN’R tour after playing just a single show in 2006 (the origin of the “Pigeons of Shit Metal” shirt you see above).

But regardless of whatever their intentions were, I actually think EoDM did a killer job! They made the song their own, and, believe it or not, may have inadvertently created something that’s actually closer to how the tune was original envisioned: Axl Rose once revealed that bassist Duff McKagan, who wrote the music, intended for the track the be an upbeat, Brit-pop style ditty, until Slash got his hands on the riff and “raped it” (Axl’s words).
