Watch the Trailer for As the Palaces Burn, Lamb of God’s New Feature-Length Documentary About Randy Blythe’s Arrest and Trial
It may not be in 3D or IMAX, but this looks a helluva lot more interesting than Through the Never: As the Palaces Burn is a new feature-length documentary from director Don Argott, whose previous credits include the Bobby Liebling/Pentagram-centered Last Days Here. Although the film is described on IMDB as a “Documentary that follows metal fans in different countries set against Lamb of God’s 2012 world tour” [sic], the trailer suggests that the movie focuses largely on Randy Blythe’s manslaughter arrest and trial in the Czech Republic. My guess is that Argott was following Lamb of God, filming footage for the documentary described on IMDB, when Blythe was arrested, and that, consequently, the focus of the project shifted somewhat. (Since Blythe was accused of killing a fan, Daniel Nosek, there’s even some thematic connection to the other topic already in place.) In any case, it looks like an intimate, band’s-eye view of the whole debacle, which should certainly make for compelling viewing.
As the Palaces Burn will debut at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam next month before it receives an actual release in 2014. Meanwhile, three of Argott’s other films, including Last Days Here, are now streaming on Netflix, should you wish to familiarize yourself with his work prior to viewing Palaces.
