Dave Mustaine Will Never Crawl Out from Beneath Metallica’s Shadow
Kudos to Metal Injection for catching this nice lil’ bit of trivia-in-the-making: this past week, Metallica’s 1991 self-titled album (more popularly known, of course, as The Black Album”) sold 1,737… while Megadeth’s Super Collider sold 1,713 copies.
To review: an album that will be twenty-two years old as of this coming Monday outsold an album that came out in June.
Now, I’m sure The Black Album outsold a LOT of much, mucher newer releases this past week. And that’s obviously not, like, an indication of artistic merit.
But, once again, context is everything… and because Mustaine seemed to think that Super Collider was poised to be a super-success, well, the fact that his hubris has blown up in his face is hilarious.
So let’s all point and laugh, shall we?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, your old band will always outsell you, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
