Exclusive: Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Kill ‘Em All With These Very Old Photos of Metallica

0

Kill ‘Em All turns 30 this year, a fact Metallica were presumably well aware of when they decided to play the album in full at their very own Orion Festival in Detroit last month. Today is the day — July 25th — when they released the album that would profoundly alter music — both heavy and otherwise — forever.

To celebrate we’re sharing with MetalSucks readers six photos from the book Murder in the Front Row courtesy of publisher Bazillion Points. The photo book doesn’t just feature Metallica, of course, but all of their Bay Area thrash metal contemporaries from the early ’80s as well.

That photo of James headbanging while listening to the album for the first time… so awesome! Anyone who’s been in a band that’s recorded an album has definitely been there.
