Varg Vikernes and Marie Cachet Released from Police Custody; No Charges Made
Varg Vikernes and his wife, Marie Cachet, have been released from police custody following their arrest earlier this week for being “likely to prepare a large-scale act of terrorism.” The couple were ultimately not charged with any crime, reports NRK, because “Police were unable to identify specific terrorist plans or a terrorist target.”
BUT — yes, there’s a but — Vikernes will still be required to appear in court “in a few weeks for breach of racism laws in France.” He is accused of making hateful comments about Jews and Muslims on the internet… which, I imagine, won’t be hard to prove.
