Randy Blythe Wrote a Memoir
You may recall that while Randy Blythe was sitting in a Pankrác prison last summer, he spent at least part of his time working on a book about his experiences; now it would seem that we’ll be all be able to read the results by this time next year. Blythe has revealed that his Da Capo Press will release his memoir, “which puts emphasis on the past year of his life,” in the spring of 2014. Says Blythe in a statement:
“While I’ve dreamed of being a published author almost since I began to read, I never imagined my first book would center around such a sad topic. Sometimes though, life unexpectedly provides you a story that needs to be told. I believe this one does (for several different reasons, not just for the benefit of myself), so I will tell it with the respect and dignity all involved deserve. This will be a good read, I promise you, and I hope some good comes of it.”
The book, which was written solely by Blythe — “no ghost-writers, no co-authors,” the press release boasts — still doesn’t have a title… but obviously, this De Profundis of extreme music going to be the must-read for metal fans next year. And given the power of Blythe’s writing in the past, I have to imagine it’s gonna be engaging, to say the least.
More details as we get ’em.
