TOOL WORKING ON MOVIE? REMIND ME NOT TO STAY SOBER.
Billboard.com‘s John Benson reports that Tool are tossing around ideas for a band movie. Adam Jones, the band’s guitarist as well as the visionary and artist behind much of the imagery that has become synonymous with Tool, says that the effort would be a collective work involving all of the band members, and that “…it has to be done in a way where people would see integrity and hard work and not just something thrown together or home movies or some shitty filmed live show.” The article continues:
“We all have ideas about it,” Jones says. “If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it. I think some of the other guys would like to do pockets of all of that or something that’s live or we’re playing. It’s just talk right now.”
Meanwhile Tool continues their worldwide tour in support of their latest release 10,000 Days, which has gone nearly double-platinum in the US. They are also dealing with a “ridiculous” lawsuit brought by an angry artist who used to do work for the band.
