Joey Jordison’s New Band Has a Name Now
Joey Jordison’s new project — which includes former Strapping Young Lad guitarist Jed Simon, former Darkest Hour guitarist Kris Norris, former Nine Inch Nails/Marilyn Manson keyboardist Chris Vrenna, and vocalist Henry Derek — now has a name: Scar the Martyr. I think it’s safe to assume they’re not Christian.
Says Jordison of the group which will heretofore be called “StM” by lazy bloggers like me:
“With this project, I focused my efforts on writing for the better of the song. I wasn’t worried about flash or persona… It’s all about writing a good solid song. I’m writing music that people can grasp and hold on to… something that resonates. If you don’t have that, then you have nothing.”
Good songwriting is important! In other news, water is wet.
Scar the Martyr’s debut album will be out on Roadrunner sometime in the fall. There still hasn’t been any music released yet — but the band did unveil the below in-studio video, which features a few very brief snippets of music. It’s basically impossible to tell what it sounds like from this, but I suspect that will prevent no one from watching it.
