Exclusive Track Premiere: “Flesh & Bone” by Battlecross
All roads lead to this: Michigan’s Battlecross are on a very short list of bands whose music is an amalgamation of all of metal’s most revered artists thus far in the genre’s history — the purest and most exemplary embodiment of everything that modern metal is and can be. Case in point: the band’s new album, War of Will. The first track to be released from War, “Force Fed Lies,” channeled Slayer with such ferocity as to do Jeff Hanneman proud, while their new single, “Flesh & Bone,” skews much more towards the sound of European melodeath outfits like their soon-to-be-tourmates in Children of Bodom. And it’s all centered around guitar licks that are so incredibly catchy as to actually be superior to what some veteran European melodeath acts are putting out these days. WICKED.
MetalSucks is proud to debut “Flesh & Bone,” which you can stream below. War of Will comes out July 9 on Metal Blade. You can pre-order it at this link, where you can also watch studio diaries feature exclusive, candid footage from their recording sessions at Audio Hammer Studios. And don’t forget that these dudes will be on tour all summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth, Mastodon and more. They’ll also be playing a handful of off-dates with Bodom, Amon Amarth, Job for a Cowboy, and Huntress. Get their complete tour itinerary below!
