“All That’s Left is Blood”: Listen to the Recording Debut of the New Chimaira
We’ve already heard a live bootleg of “All That’s Left is Blood,” but now Chimaira have released a video for the actual studio recording of the song, giving us, for the first time, some sense of what we might be able to expected from this rejiggered version of the band. As of this writing, I’ve only had a chance to listen to the song once, but my gut reaction is that I like it. Austin D’Amond — who was always my favorite thing about Bleed the Sky — is a beast, Emil Werstler is obviously the kind of dude for whom the phrase “guitar god” was invented, and sole remaining original member Mark Hunter has clearly done a good job making sure that the music sounds of a kind with Chimaira’s past output. I can’t really imagine any Chimaira fan feeling let down by this.
Check out “All That’s Left is Blood” below and see what you think. It will appear on the band’s new album, Crown of Phantoms, which will be out this summer on eOne.
