New Coliseum Song “Black Magic Punks” Perfectly Describes Their Sound
MetalSucks reader “Chuckles” had the following to say via late-night email about Coliseum’s new track, “Black Magic Punks:”
I know this isn’t as important as a new Scissorfight or Graveyard BBQ track, but apparently Coliseum premiered a new track on Pitchfork. I freakin hate pitchfork, but I’m drunk and Coliseum rules.
Totally nails it, amirite? I would like to correct Chuckles in one respect, though: Brandon Stosuy, Pitchfork’s metal writer, consistently kills it for that website in spite of all the other nonsense that goes on there. He brought you this new Coliseum track, didn’t he? Hate the game, not the player… or something.
Anyway, “Black Magic Punks” is indeed no new Scissorfight or Graveyard BBQ, but it’s pretty dern good. Stream it right here. This band has been consistently killing it for years, and they’re showing no signs of letting up. The J. Robbins-produced new album Sister Faith will be released on April 30 via Temporary Residence.
As for Graveyard BBQ, we keep hearing that they’re working on new stuff but don’t have any concrete details yet. And Scissorfight, well… we’ll probably be waiting forever.
