HEY! LOOK AT THAT! THE NEW IZZY STRADLIN ALBUM IS OUT.

Izzy Stradlin has released his new album, Miami, exclusively over iTunes. We’ve known that this was coming for awhile, but I kind of expected, you know, a more formal announcement than it just appearing on the digital music store one day. How very Izzy to just let the album come out without a lot of fuss (say, isn’t that what Axl’s manager said GN’R might do last year?); the guy was, after all, always the most enigmatic member of GN’R, which is really, REALLY saying something. Also, the album cover art appears to be a bunch of steel rope coiled up; I’m not sure what that has to do with Miami, but I like that Izzy always keeps us guessing.

ANYWAY, I haven’t actually had time to listen to the album yet, but Izzy has been doing consistently excellent work pretty much his whole career. You can hear some samples of the album over at the excellent Izzy site ChopAway.com.
