Finalists announced in the EMMURE HAIKU CONTEST!!
For those of you not familiar with the ancient art of Haiku, it is a form of poetry invented by William Shakespeare, who wrote all of his many musicals, pulp novels and screenplays in Haiku (also known as iambic pentameter). And although it was invented over 2000 years ago by The Bard, Haiku is alive and well, believe it or not! In fact, along with my friends at More people like Emmure than they ever will your shit death metal band I am holding a contest to introduce young people to this beautiful artform using contemporary subject matter (like when you are in elementary school and they play you a rap song about dinosaurs or whatever to trick you into learning).
We are pleased to announce the finalists in the 2012 EMMURE HAIKU CONTEST below– but regardless of who is declared the victor, I think we can all agree that the REAL winner is the humanities! Please, feel free to add your own EMMURE HAIKU in the comments below (simply click ‘leave a reply’, then leave your reply. Other users may enjoy your feedback and in turn leave their own reply, creating a rich and stimulating discussion!)
