JAMEY JASTA IS A WORDSMITH

Hatebreed have completed the recording of their new album, and Jamey Jasta promises that it will be “all pit, no shit.” I have no idea whether or not Jasta coined that phrase, but I’ve never heard it before, and Googling it just brings up a bunch of stories about Jasta, so I’m gonna go ahead and assume it’s a JJ original.

That being the case, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to Jasta for thinking up pretty much the best phrase ever. I’m not kidding at all: earlier this week I was contemplating writing the phrase “all killer, no filler” for an article, and decided against it because it’s such a cliché. But I’m going to feel free to use “all pit, no shit” for at least the next 1-2 years.

Hatebreed’s new album come should be out next year. The band will kick off a tour with Lamb of God, In Flames, and Sylosis at the end of October; you can get dates here. According to The PRP, Hatebreed won’t be debuting any new material live just yet, but fans “who purchase meet and greet packages will be treated to new songs backstage,” which is pretty cool.
