LISTEN TO KHONSU

If you press “play” below and think to yourself that Khonsu’s new album Anomalia (streamable courtesy of Stereokiller) sounds a whole lot like Norwegian progressive black metallers Keep of Kalessin, congratulate yourself on your keen ears: the band was founded by KoK guitarist Arnt “Obsidian C.” Grønbech. The epic, blackened passages, razor-sharp guitar riffs, piano accents and hard-driving pace certain call Keep of Kalessin to mind, and that’s a good thing. But at times I can’t even tell what the difference is; this could’ve been released as a KoK album and I wouldn’t have thought it odd in the slightest.
