An Old Video of AC/DC Frontman Brian Johnson Singing TOTO’s “Hold the Line” Has Resurfaced
A video of AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson singing TOTO’s “Hold the Line” with his old band Geordie has resurfaced online, and it’s pretty funny…
Taken from a Geordie reunion concert back in 2001 in front of what sounds like a pretty small crowd. Given how he’d been playing massive shows with AC/DC for about 21 years at that point, it’s wild to imagine what it would have been like to see such a bona fide rock star like Johnson playing a capacity any smaller than 10,000.
During Geordie’s Geordie II reunion tour, they played six shows across the U.K., including two dates in their home town of Newcastle.
Throughout the setlist, the band treated fans to their biggest hits, including tracks from their debut record Hope You Like It. Along with the aforementioned TOTO cover, Johnson and the guys added renditions of Nina Simone’s 1964 classic “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” and Led Zeppelin classics “Rock And Roll” and “Black Dog,” among others.
Even though the video is almost half a century old, it’s resurfaced and gone viral on TikTok and YouTube. Bands, pay attention. TOTO covers could be your secret weapon. Or you could just be a singer in one of the biggest rock bands in the world like AC/DC and just have an old video go viral. Either works.
