Kirk Hammett Likes the Idea of Metallica Playing Las Vegas’ Sphere: “Oh, Heck Yeah!”

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has shared that he would be down to play Las Vegas’ famous venue, the Sphere. Known for its 360 design: creating a 3d immersive experience, the Sphere has been home to some incredible shows over the years. With rock bands such as The Eagles and U2 bringing huge concerts.

However, a metal band is yet to grace its stage, which seems pretty insane, because you’d imagine this to be the perfect fit. We all saw how Gojira completely killed the Paris 2024 Olympics ceremony, right? To the point that even non-metalheads were impressed. Imagine that, but in a giant dome in Las Vegas…

Speaking on the topic of tech-forward live shows, Hammett expresses his thoughts on whether Metallica would play the Sphere:

“Oh, heck, yeah! That’s a great example of how venues are changing. That’s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience.”

Right now, Metallica is embarking on the North American leg of their M72 World Tour. With dates featuring Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills as support acts.
