Snot Guitarist Sonny Mayo Quit the Band, Doc Coyle to Fill In for Upcoming Shows
Having reunited earlier this year, nu-metal outfit Snot has garnered a lot of excitement and attention as of late. They got a new vocalist in Stronger Than Machines’ Andy Knapp and they’ve been booked all over for reunion shows that are supposed to kick off this Friday. Yet in the last hour, guitarist Mikey Doling announced another lineup change, as rhythm guitarist Sonny Mayo left the band.
In a post on the band’s Instagram page, Doling started off by giving an update about the upcoming shows, but quickly announced Mayo’s departure, making it sound like everything between both parties was amicable in the end.
“Sonny Mayo has decided to quit Snot. Snot doesn’t fit into his life right now, and he just wants to focus on himself and his life, and Snot‘s just too busy for him to be able to continue. So I’d like to wish Sonny Mayo the best of luck in his future. And I want to thank him for all he’s contributed to Snot over the years. We love you brother.”
As a result of Mayo’s exit, Doling announced that they’ve recruited God Forbid guitarist Doc Coyle to step up and help them complete their live obligations. In a comment on the video, Coyle called it “an honor” to join the band.
