RAWG to Play Their First-Ever Concert Cruise in NYC to Celebrate a Major Metal Promotion
An incredibly cool opportunity to soak in some unique vistas while rocking out to the world’s premiere GWAR tribute band can be yours next month, as Freeman Promotions celebrates its 15th anniversary. Presented in conjunction with GWAR-B-Q, the concert cruise will be a three-hour bash celebrating not just a force in the music biz, but also the legacy of our lords and masters, GWAR — even if it’s just some filthy humans paying tribute.
Taking place on May 13, the Liberty Belle will depart from Pier 36 — 299 South Street, New York City at 7 p.m. and won’t come back to dry land until 10 p.m. During those three hours, the concert cruise will not only have attendees rocking out with RAWG (who look ominously like the actual band if the light hits them just right…), but they’ll also bear witness to the tri-state area’s best heavy metal tribute to the Grateful Dead, TRüKKEN, with DJ Alex Kayne spinning some tunes.
And if that wasn’t enough reason to come out and get your ticket, it’s a fucking three hour cruise around Manhattan. We’re talking insane views of the city, the Statue of Liberty, and iconic bridges like the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg — just think of the Instagram likes you’ll get to help fill that vacuous void in your chest. And if you’d rather remain outdoors for the good views and vibes, you’ll still be able to rock out thanks to the outdoor sound systems.
Somehow, they even got GWAR bassist Beefcake the Mighty and Sawborg Destructo to hype up the event. Not sure why they’d want to promote something involving a tribute act — well, other than their deep vanity, of course — but you can check out those clips below.
So come out and celebrate 15 years of Freeman Promotions, rock out with RAWG, and see the sights. You can get your tickets today.
