That Peeling Flesh Collab Track DJ Marshmello Played Has Been Released
Back in February, slam band Peeling Flesh got some recognition outside of the metal world when a collab track they did with NIMDA, Svdden Death, and YVM3 was played by DJ Marshmello during a live set. It was a weird crossover for sure, but you can now hear the track for yourself.
Released earlier today, the track titled “Midnight” not only played at the live DJ set, but also shared to DJ Marshmello’s 29 million followers on Instagram, which is definitely a huge boost for any band these days.
Peeling Flesh guitarist Jason Parrish said the track came about from his love of Ice T’s song “Midnight”.
“The song came from me listening to Ice T with my pops when I was like 9/10 in a 89 trans am with 2 12s in the hatch and always wanting to sample ‘Midnight’ by Ice T into something, so I sampled it for the intro and wrote some riffs over it, essentially.”
As the track was coming together, Peeling Flesh vocalist Demonteal Harris said gathering the collaborators was pretty simple once things got rolling.
“We linked up with NIMDA, then he linked up with Svdden Death and YVM3 and here we are. Shout out to Jason’s pops and NIMDA.”
You can now check out the track below. Just be forewarned that it goes hard — strangely enough especially when the dubstep drops in.
