Cryptopsy Unveil New Album ‘An Insatiable Violence’, Streams “Until There’s Nothing Left”
Canadian death metal outfit Cryptopsyz announced their forthcoming album An Insatiable Violence., along with its crushing debut single, “Until There’s Nothing Left”. It’s their first new music since taking home a JUNO Award, so who knows? Maybe it’s another winner…
Set for release on June 20 via Season of Mist, the album features eight new tracks of brutal technical death metal. According to the band, the concept for this upcoming album is as such:
“A person spends all day building a machine, only for it to torture them at night. As if this thought wasn’t malicious enough, they enjoy it. In fact, they enjoy being tortured so much that, come morning, they wake up rejuvenated, eager to tweak their creation until it runs perfectly in their mind.”
Sounds like a hellish dystopian shithole. Totally not like the hell we live in right now. Vocalist Matt McGachy said the concept of societal brain rot behind this new album came to him in a dream.
“The concept for our new album came to me in a dream. When I woke up, I immediately wrote the title down on my phone. Because, you know, we all have to have our phones with us all the time”.
As for the single, “Until There’s Nothing Left”, it’s an absolute fucking barn burner. It’s an ass-beater. It’s absolutely unrelenting right from the start, complete with speedy guitar attacks, brutal vocals, and endless blast beats to get forced down your gullet.
An Insatiable Violence will be released on June 20 via Season of Mist, but you can pre-order and pre-save your copy today.
