King Parrot Get Animated for “Look Away I’m Hideous”
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about animated body horror that just fucks me up. Always has, but when I hit play on the video for King Parrot‘s new single “Look Away I’m Hideous”, it was… a lot.
Released in conjunction with the band’s latest single off their forthcoming album A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot, the Australian thrash grindcore outfit opted for a grotesque video to offer commentary on the beauty industry and body modification addiction. Animated by Australian artist “The Art Of Fox”, the video definitely goes to extremes but makes its point.
Speaking of the track and its video, guitarist “Squiz” openly wonders what could bring someone to change their look so much no mater the cost.
“Perplexed as to what drives the desires of seemingly already attractive people to cross that line into addictive, overblown, plastic surgery modification? And to just keep ramping it up? And then also, the lovers and appreciators of said mods? I mean, I got body issues up the wazoo, but this stuff seems inherently dangerous and alien to me. In any case… As is your want!”
