Necrophobic Drop a Music Video for “Nordanvind”
More than a year after blackened death metal stalwarts Necrophobic released their most recent album In the Twilight Grey, they’re back with a music video from one of that album’s songs, “Nordanvind”.
Directed by Jens Rydén, the new music video is that typical Nordic music video — cold looking, apparently filmed on a frozen body of water, full of leather, studs, and corpse paint.
Speaking of the track itself, the track is a reverent look at the band’s home back in Sweden.
“Nordanvind is a hymn to the north. A tribute to our home and our ancestors. The song captures the sound of the cold north wind and the melodies and secrets that lay hidden within it. It’s a song about once again reuniting and being one with the soil we were once made of!”
In addition to the music video’s release, the band announced they’ve put out a digital EP featuring “Nordanvind” and two additional songs: ”Blackened the Horizon” and a cover of W.A.S.P.’s ”The Torture Never Stops.”
Speaking of the W.A.S.P. cover, the band had this to say:
“W.A.S.P. is a band that we were very inspired by when it comes to their live shows, appearance and imagery, especially around the time of 1984-1985.”
