Behemoth Does Some ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ Sh*t in the “Lvciferaeon” Music Video
The roll out of singles for Behemoth‘s forthcoming album The Shit Ov God continues with “Lvciferaeon” and its accompanying music video. As you’d come to expect from the Polish extreme metal band, the video’s full of “blasphemous” imagery directly challenging the whole Christian dogma. As they’re wont to do, really.
And while you may have an opinion about modern Behemoth and the quality of what they’ve been putting out, you gotta give it to them that the videos are always visually striking. I’m sure the whole eyeballs on someone’s palms thing is a religious icon or something, but I saw that shit in the video and immediately thought about Guillermo Del Toro’s classic film Pan’s Labyrinth.
Speaking of the track itself, Adam “Nergal” Darski said the release of this song is perfectly timed, as Behemoth recently started their tour and have seen protestors outside their shows at each stop.
“It seems fitting to announce ‘Lvciferaeon’ as our next single amongst all the protest activity seen on the streets of the ‘Unholy Trinity’ Tour. Lucifer has been a recurring symbol for us over our three decades of existence — a symbol of defiance and humanity in contrast to the divine ideal. Our fight continues!”
