New Nine Inch Nails Music Featured in ‘Tron: Ares’ Trailer

0

A malignant A.I. shows up and begins fucking shit up in the real world. No, that’s not a prediction of the coming years (though who knows), that’s the synopsis for the upcoming Disney movie Tron: Ares if a chimp with a typewriter were to explain it. But what that information leaves out is what’s relevant to you guys — the soundtrack will feature new music by Nine Inch Nails.

And that’s not just Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor, either. We’re talking honest to goodness Nine Inch Nails music in a new movie. Not only that, but you can hear some of the new music in the movie’s official trailer, posted below.

There’s not much to what you can hear in the trailer, but if you’re looking for dark, gloomy, cyberpunk sounding noise, then damn it Nine Inch Nails hits it right on the nose. At least this will tide people over until the new record comes out.

Tron: Ares is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson. The official synopsis for the film — and not just my hyper-simplification of it — goes as follows:

Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”

Outside of this new flick and Nine Inch Nails’ new music in it, the band announced the ‘Peel It Back’ world tour earlier this year with supporting act Boys Noize. It’ll be their first tour since 2022 and you can find the full list of dates below.
