Deftones Bring Out Hayley Williams for “Minerva” at Nashivlle Show

0

Deftones are currently on a North American tour with special guests The Mars Volta. So far, it’s seen the band play tracks from their latest album, Ohms and a selection of their biggest hits.

Last night, during their Nashville concert, Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams joined the group on stage for a rendition of their shoegaze track “Minerva” – taken from their 2003 self-titled.

Together, the pair made an etheral duo as Williams brought her signature vocals alongside Chino Moreno’s nonchalant delivery.

This isn’t the first time the two have joined forces on stage. In 2010, Willimas previously made a special appearance at their Rock-A-Field Festival slot to perform “Passenger” from their critically acclaimed White Pony album.

It’s been five years since Deftones dropped Ohms, and it’s uncertain whether they will be releasing new music this year. That being said, with the amount of festival slots and tour dates they have lined up, it’s easy to hope…

Additionally, in 2023, guitarist Stephen Carpenter appeared on an interview with the Gnostic Academy podcast, where he expressed that the band were working on a new album.

“Just in the last couple of months, really — two or three months; well, maybe a little longer now, really; February is when we started — we’re starting to work on new material for a new record.”

Although it was predicted to come out in 2024, we’re still waiting for more details on that one. Could 2025 be the year for new Deftones material?
