Hacktivist Down to Two Members After Their Guitarist, Bassist, and Drummer Quit

British djent-tinged nu-metal act Hacktivist — that we at MetalSucks have had on our radar — are going through it right now. Not roughly two years after experiencing a major lineup change, the five-piece band is now down to just vocalists Jermaine Hurley and JJ Olifent, as drummer Richard Hawking, guitarist James Hewitt, and bassist Josh Gurner all left the band.

News of the upheaval came out on the band’s official Facebook page, where the band wished the outgoing members good luck moving forward.

“Today we’re announcing that drummer; Richard Hawking, guitarist; James Hewitt, and bassist; Josh Gurner, will not be continuing in the band with us. We’re super grateful for their contributions and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Tough decisions have been made on all sides, but we can assure all of our supporters that there’s no bad blood between us. It’s all love. Updates to follow about a fresh new line up this week so keep your eyes and ears peeled.”

There’s no news at this time as to what the band will do next, only that the new lineup will be announced sometime this week. Hawking was an original member from the band’s inception in 2011, while the other two joined back in 2018.
