GWAR and Kevin Smith Team Up for a Special Screening of the This Is Gwar Documentary

Ahhh, New Jersey. The land of Batman’s Gotham, Toxic Avenger and Tromaville, and the Quick Stop in Leonardo where Dante famously learned his girlfriend had sucked 37 dicks prior to his and Jay and Silent Bob loitered in the indie classic film Clerks.

Frankly, I couldn’t think of a better place to show a special screening of This Is GWAR, the documentary that highlights the life and times of our Lords and Masters… GWAR. And they’ve got Clerks director Kevin Smith in on the action, since he’s hosting said screening at Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.

Set to take place on Saturday, August 30 at 8 p.m., the entire documentary will be shown, after which a Q&A with the band hosted by Smith will take place. And if anyone’s stoked about this event, it’s Smith.

“As a relic of the 90’s, I’m happy to help celebrate these bloody legends who’ve been enthralling audiences since the 80’s! GWAR has not only stayed true to their gruesome roots all this time, they’ve also carved out their place in industry history.”

GWAR frontman The Berserker Blöthar and his human slave Dr. Michael Bishop, Ph.D. echoed Smith’s sentiments.

“You ridiculous humans could learn a few things from Kevin Smith. If you’ve seen any of his movies, you probably already have. He wrote the 37 dicks scene (genius), he cast Alanis Morissette as God, he’s the King of Jorts, and he is GWAR approved. We are stoked to get stoned and hang out at his theater drinking watered-down soda and answering the questions of our pimply-faced legion of fans.”

Tickets are available right now at $25 for the screening and Q&A. For the more devoted and deep-pocketed fans, you can also get a photo op with Smith and GWAR for $100.

Don’t miss out on this event if you’re in the area. Get your tickets right now, bohabs!
