Swallow The Sun Drop the Growls for “MelancHoly (Holy Edit)”
Earlier today, Finnish doom metal outfit Swallow The Sun released a special version of the track “MelancHoly” that’s sure to either please or piss off certain subsects of their fans. The difference in this “Holy Edit” is the fact that there are zero growls in the vocals. None whatsoever. The track is just straight up clean vocals city, so if that’s cool, great. If not, I’m sure we’ll hear about it in the comments.
This new version of the song stems from the band’s digital deluxe edition of last year’s Shining called Shining Dark Deluxe. According to the band, this version of the album “invites fans into a deeper, more atmospheric experience, showcasing unique interpretations of select studio tracks that capture the band’s signature melancholy and live energy.”
Shining Dark Deluxe will be released on April 11 via Century Media, but you can preorder your copy.
