…and Oceans Release Explosive New Single “Prophetical Mercury Implement”
With a new album coming out this coming May, symphonic black metal outfit …and Oceans dropped their latest single “Prophetical Mercury Implement” in a bid to gain some hype for their seventh full-length effort.
Replete with blast beats, copious amounts of double bass, and crashing waves of unrelenting riffs, “Prophetical Mercury Implement” is a soaring, epic black metal composition that draws on the past while pushing forward into 2025’s uncharted territory. According to the band, the new song deals with the themes present in The Regeneration Itinerary, including “transformation, duality, and rebirth.”
Speaking of the track itself, vocalist Mathias Lillmåns said it stemmed from some pretty personal realizations.
“‘The Prophetical Mercury Implement’ is an existential realization. I was exploring some very deep waters at some point, I could see the mercury dripping from my side, but still wanted more, searching for new dangerous currents to take me further.
“I just kept on feeding the destruction until one day I had reached some kind of a threshold. Even though this track is a view from a vast bottomless depth it also offers a glimpse of the other side, a promise of redemption and transcendence.”
The Regeneration Itinerary will be released on May 23 via Season of Mist, but you can preorder and pre-save your copy today.
