100 Demons Welcome Bassist Sean Martin Back in the Band
We love it when a good band makes a return. Double time if it also includes the return of a good member. That’s what Connecticut metalcore/hardcore band 100 Demons is doing. Not only have they welcomed back their old bassist, Sean Martin (ex-Hatebreed), but it’s also said that they’re working on new music for the first time in over 20 years.
While Martin’s return comes with a tinge of sadness—since he’s replacing the late Erik Barret, who passed away last year—the band seems excited to be back in familiar territory. The band’s vocalist Pete Morcey posted this about the whole to-do yesterday (March 14):
@100demons203 would like to formally announce and welcome our brother and new bass player Sean Martin @theresidualeffects back into the mix. We are also excited to announce we are well into writing our first record in over 20 years. Lots of great things happening in 2025. Love each and every one of these guys. We’ve been playing together our whole lives. See you all soon.
Barret unfortunately passed away last year for undisclosed reasons. Morcey posted a heartfelt and heartbroken message about it when it happened, which makes me feel like whatever 100 Demons are currently working on might be dedicated to him in one way or another.
“We had some big things in the works this year my friend. I was so happy you were back in the band playing with us again. I wish I knew what was going on in your head. I know I could have made a difference. You left behind so many people who loved you…..your family, your friends, your girlfriend and bandmates are in shock. I haven’t slept all night bc my mind was flooded with every memory of our history together. We would have done anything and everything for you.”
